The main task of the group's work is to focus on the development of a creative personality, providing children with opportunities for free development, raising their intellectual level, and creating motivation for self-improvement.
Educational task - development of creative activity of schoolchildren, encouragement to deepen and expand knowledge, create conditions for self-analysis and self-improvement, development of logical thinking and communication skills. Great attention is paid to the development of imagination, logic, and aesthetic taste. In working with schoolchildren, such methodical techniques are used as methods of activating abilities, searching for new ideas.
The main form of work in the circle is practical classes: logical tasks, participation and holding of contests and championships in intellectual games, trainings, selection of materials for holding games.
A game is always an awakening of emotions, an opportunity to distract from everyday life, a game arouses curiosity and a desire to get involved in it. In the modern world there is a variety of intellectual games. All-Ukrainian association CROKS is a union of cultured, intelligent, organized, smart, agile high school students. Students of the Kolkiv Lyceum are active members of this association.
For many years, the teams of the institution participated and became winners of regional and All-Ukrainian championships. Every year, the "CROCS Erudite Championship" is held among high school students of the lyceum. Students are also happy to participate in various intellectual games and contests: "50 words", "Persons", "Intellectual target", "Best erudite", "Smartest high school student", "Intellectual marathon". Lyceum students have also repeatedly participated in All-Ukrainian intellectual games held online.
The open championship of high school students of Volyn takes place annually on the basis of the Volyn Scientific Lyceum of the Volyn Regional Council. Team "Ad astra!" repeatedly became its winner and prize-winner.
The initiator of the All-Ukrainian Erudite Competition is the Ternopil KROCS branch. The people of Kolkiv became participants in the "Galichyna Cup" competitions held in 2018 and 2019. Won prizes in individual and team championships, "Duets" competition.
High school students represented their educational institution worthily at the CROKS Championship of Ukraine for intellectual and developmental games in 2015-2019.
In connection with quarantine restrictions, the holding of erudite competitions became possible only in online format.
During 2010-2012, the Kolkiv Lyceum team "Ad astra!" won prizes at the district championship of intellectual games, and in 2012 became the winner of the Polissya Cup championship.
The first CROCS school championship was held in 2005. Every year, pupils of grades 9-11 present their teams at the erudite competition. The cohesion of the participants, intellectual level, careful preparation, dexterity, endurance, organization - everything matters.
Students of different age groups like intellectual games. During the summer rehabilitation of schoolchildren, subject weeks, educational seminars, the "Club of Erudites" knows how to interest and captivate not only children, but also adults with the game.
